Homeschool Classes: Friday Music

Aug 9, 2024

2024-2025 Music classes are taught by Mr. Jacob Kenyon. Classes begin September 6, 2024 and end May 30, 2025.

K-1 Music: Fridays 9:30-10am | $400/year, paid in monthly installments

In the K-1 music class we will learn to sing and get exposure to a variety of musical experiences through playing various percussion instruments, guided listening and musical games. Learning music at this age is all about expression and discovery. Formal music theory concepts are kept to a minimum in favor of creating lasting impressions that will inspire musical curiosity.

Grammar 2-5 Music: Fridays 8:45-9:30am | $600/year, paid in monthly installments

In the grammar 2-5 music class we will learn more about singing and gain more exposure to age appropriate musical experiences through the playing of various percussion instruments, musical games, and guided listening. We will also begin to learn some basic musical concepts to lay a foundation for further musical study. Rudimentary musical literacy skills will be gained.

6-9th Grade Ukulele: 10:15-11:15am | $600/year, paid in monthly installments (7 student enrolled minimum)

In this class we will learn how to play everything we need to make music on the ukulele. We will learn to play chord progressions, songs, strumming patterns, and a little picking. We will learn how to read a basic lead sheet chart with chords and song lyrics. By the end of the course we should be able to play almost any song we want to learn.
